Mark
Martin - Chief Executive Officer

As
a project manager in industry, then as an
acting assistant professor at Stanford University,
Mark has been involved in the management,
research, and teaching of product development.
He spent six years in industry working in
quality assurance at TI and product development
at Marlow Industries. During his masters
and Ph.D. studies he worked with GM, Boeing,
HP, Sun, Nortel, Ford, Canon, Sony, Printronix
and others through sponsored projects and
research. He has authored research papers
on various product development methods and
has taught one of the largest online classes
at Stanford. During his time at Stanford,
he consulted with HP, Sun, Cisco, ABB and
Toshiba. His Ph.D. research focused on methods
to aid product development teams. Mark earned
his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Stanford,
his SM in management and SM in mechanical
engineering at MIT and his BSME at the University
of Oklahoma (go Sooners!).

Chris
has designed and deployed a wide range of
products that have one central theme: learning.
Chris has a diverse background that includes
a number of years as a classroom teacher,
an education technology coordinator, an
e-business and e-learning consultant, a
web designer, and a summer camp director.
In recent years, Chris has worked with a
number of Silicon Valley startups and has
become passionate about the power of the
Internet to transform education. Before
working with design4X, Chris held executive
positions at two Internet startups, including
TABNet - an early pioneer in domain registration
and web hosting. Most recently, Chris served
as vice president of business development
at Angel Engineers - a web-consulting firm
where he guided business operations in sales,
marketing, and partnerships. Chris earned
his MA in Learning, Design, and Technology
from Stanford University, and he earned
his Masters in Education and his BA in history
from UCLA (go Bruins!). |
